Over the years, when inspired, I’ve scribbled down poems and songs on, or in, whatever was within reach – journals, notebooks, stray napkins, receipts, fliers, and empty envelopes – not the best system for editing, organizing, or safe-keeping my work, which has no doubt resulted in some pieces being misplaced forever.
Although I typically prefer to hand-write, I’ve recently decided to force myself to transfer my initial drafts into a digital format that can be preserved indefinitely.
Coincidentally, typing everything up has eliminated excuses for not posting these pieces online, and so, Prosewood is born!
I am launching Prosewood in order to:
- Share my pieces with poetry lovers of the world, in order to generate discussion and provoke thought
- Create one space where I can keep all of my poems and which can serve as a portfolio that demonstrates growth
- Motivate myself to write more often by setting a regular posting schedule
Whether you are a poetry lover, critic, hater, or publisher, here it is: I offer up my soul.
